We're going green! 10 - 17 June 2023

Lincoln is going green for the Great Big Green Week!

#ClimateHopeLincoln is helping our passionate local changemakers and committed organisations unite in climate action. Residents and organisations in Lincoln are taking part in a nationwide campaign next week to highlight climate action in Lincoln, ‘Lincoln 2030’ our ambitious target for Lincoln to be net zero carbon by 2030 and #Climate Hope Lincoln.

Taking place between 10-17 June, the climate action campaign known as the Great Big Green Week will see thousands of people across the UK organising local festivals and events. The campaign aims to draw attention to climate change, destruction of the natural world, while also making a connection with these issues in communities like Lincoln, at the same time as showcasing actions to tackle climate change.

This year, there is a host of activities, both online and offline to talk about our environment, find out what small ways you can make a big difference and can feed into local policy and climate action planning.

You can find out what is happening throughout the week here below or by visiting the Great Big Green Week website. Activities include a story of climate emergency told through dance and movement, plant based menu options at Mint Lane Café, a community garden open day, and a ticket only event to learn more about Doughnut Economics to help make a green DEAL for Lincoln, all launched by a flash mob on the High Street on Saturday 10 June, plus much more.

To find out more head to lincolnclimate.org.uk or follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @ClimateLincoln

We are thankful that this project is supported by the above local organisations and many other contributors within the local community.
